Bragging on My Husband! Way To Go Honey!

WOW!  I have not seen this totally put together but will in about an hour when David and our friend Kevin load it up on Kevin's truck and we deliver it to our dear, dear friend Olga!  Olga became a Stampin' Up demonstrator a while back and she has outgrown her storage big time.  So one afternoon we all sat around her dining room table and designed this cabinet. (Needs to be compact as she doesn't have much space.)  David in essence has taken my entire stamping area and put it into a small cabinet.  The two sides close up to make it look like any other cabinet.  Notice the drawers for the re-inkers; the ribbon rack and the place for her stamp pads.  There are 26 drawers in this cabinet (my husband is now the drawer making champion of the world!).  Notice the larger bottom drawer on the center right - for her Big Shot!  She has drawers for stamps, for paper, for punches and shelves for her Clear Mount Stamp cases.  I'm SO excited for her and SO PROUD of my husband.  This cabinet is solid maple and heavy as all get out.  So hopefully David won't re-injure his back.  Oh and notice the piano hinges on the swing-outs (my name) to hold all the heaviness of the furniture plus whatever Olga stores in them.  Oh I almost forgot - right under the top where you can't see are two pull-out boards for extra work space.   The Lord has truly blessed my David with such a wonderful gift of working with wood.

Thanks for stopping by  -  Shari

PS:  These pictures were taken at the wood shop here at Laguna Woods Village - thus the legs on the top pictures - LOL!!!!!

What a work of art. You have one awesomely talented craftsman in David, Shari. Both you and your friend are blessed and lucky indeed to share the fruits of his labors. Thanks for sharing.

PS With imagination and planning it just shows you can have it all in one place.

Wow! I only hope he made good notes for his "recipe"...on how he made this wonderful 'work of Art' ...because he could name his price and still sell more than he could ever make! Lucky Olga.
Thanks for sharing, Shari!

I am sooooo jealous of this! Your husband should publish/sell the plans for this so other demonstrators can find someone to build them one. He is so talented. I can only imagine how proud you are of him!

Me and wood well I can work a little with it, I can cut laminated click flooring and the edging with the mitre saw n block but that's it.

He so needs to make them and sell them. This is the best thing I have seen. PERIOD!

Oh Shari, Your husband should think about drawing up the patterns with instructions and cutting list etc and selling them online. I'm sure the pattern and instructions would sell like hot cakes. I know I'd buy one for my hubby. He's handy but working from a pattern would mean all that figuring out was done. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing and I hope your friend is enjoying her wonderful cabinet.

Or alternatively sell the plans to a cabinet maker to produce for the crafting market. This is a superb idea and a great space saver. I'd buy one and I'm sure loads of others would too.Hugs xx
